Here in Sabah, we are not the minority and there’s platforms to make our voice heard. Over in Semenanjung, it’s hard for them to be proud of who they are. Self-expressions are important. Personally, if I do not write down, sketch or work on my thoughts, it makes me agitated for I know those ideas will only be a distant daydream. I believe there is a link between idleness and creativity. Hence, taking breaks in between working days is necessary for me.
Fatahul’17 is currently working as a LDO in TFM. Recently, he has conducted two workshops (one virtual and one in IPG kampus Temenggong Ibrahim) for fellows and alumni who are interested in designing handmade worksheets. As a creative soul, Fatahul tends to his students through designed worksheets, on top of expressing himself through playing music (Gamelan and guitar) and making videos.
Like the great Hamlet, all of us, at one point or another, have pondered this crucial dilemma. “To be, or not to be.” To embrace the opportunities that come our way and to be all that we have wanted to be. Or to settle for something less than our hearts’ desires. These world-renown words are befitting of 4 TFM2017 Alumni on their journey of self-expression.
Our 2017 Teaching Alumni reported for duty on 22 April 2019! We celebrate and rejoice with them as they return to schools, and continue working relentlessly towards our Mission. Ras Atiqah ’17 and Faiz Azman ’17 wrote poems dedicated to the 2017 Teaching Alumni!
